What is the difference between Inbox and List?

Modified on Wed, 28 Aug at 11:52 AM

The Inbox and Lists have some similarities but they are also quite different.

Inbox

The Inbox is part of the Casting functionality and only displays if Casting is switched on for your Organisation and Project.

There is only one Inbox per Project.

The Inbox only shows applicant cards and is populated automatically (similar to an email Inbox) once applicants click "Submit" on their application.

You can customise your Inbox columns with the information that is most important to you, and you can sort and filter the Inbox for ease of viewing and processing.

For detailed information about the Inbox, see the Inbox Help Guide.

Lists

While the Inbox is created and populated automatically, a List is something that YOU create and populate. You can create as many Lists per project as you like, to create a fully customisable list view of your cards.

You can add any type of card to a list (ie applicant, talent, crew, client, to-do's cards etc), and you can also add rows to a List that don't include a card.

You select which columns will display to create a live automatic tracker, that instantly gives you an overview of your work. The overview is automatically populated from the work itself, rather than being a static spreadsheet. This removes unnecessary duplication of your work. You can make updates to the card from the List itself, and it updates everywhere.

This is an example of an Episode Tracker with rows for each episode.

Here is an example of a List view of talent split into sections of "Top 10" and "Top 20".

For detailed information about Lists, see the Lists Help Guide.
