Lumi has recently created a new feature that allows you to create Office 365 tabs on your Cards. This allows you to create, edit and view documents, spreadsheets and PDFs directly on the Card tabs.
The file will also be saved to the Card's Media section where it can be downloaded.
Enable Office 365 Tabs
Office 365 Tabs is a feature that must be enabled for your Organisation. Please contact support@lumi.media to have this feature switched on.
Create Office 365 Tabs
Once Office 365 Tabs are enabled for your Organisation, the option to create Office documents will be available when you click the "Add Content" (+) button on your Cards.
1. Click the "Add Content" (+) button to create a tab.
The dialog will open with "Lumi Note" as the default option. This is a standard Lumi tab that lives on the Card (ie it doesn't create a document in the Media section).
2. Select Tab type from:
- Word Document
- Excel Spreadsheet
- Powerpoint Presentation
- Existing Media - This allows you to create a tab from a PDF, Word doc, Excel or Presentation that is already on the Card's media section. Note that creating a tab from an image file (ie jpeg, png, etc) is not supported.
- Lumi Note - A standard tab which allows you to enter text, create tables, insert images etc. This content only lives on the Card. It can be exported and printed.
- Google Suite - This option is not covered by this Guide. The "Google Suite Tabs Help Guide" is coming soon.
3. Enter a Name for your file.
4. Click "Add".
Your new document will open in a separate browser tab in edit mode.
You can start working in the file and it will save as you go.
To exit the file, click the "x" on the browser tab, or click the Lumi browser tab to go back the the Card.
Your new file will be added to the Card as the last tab.
It is also added as a file to the Card's Media tab.
